Idea for a short story AU where humans weren't uplifted. I thought of a short story idea on the way to work, where humanity never found the Prothean archives on Mars, and thus were not a galactic power by the time of Mass Effect. The Reapers would have completed their harvest without Shepard, as the Crucible designs were on Mars.
